Welcome to my life. It's a whirlwind of kids, chaos, pets, people, family, art, and being home (most of the time; I like to get out here and there). We unschool, so the unexpected is, well, expected...

Girl Scout Day

Today was our Girl Scout day. John was home sick from work, so Margaux decided that she didn't want to go this morning. So, I got to spend the whole day with Chamille! It is so rare to have that time with her, just the two of us.

My kids are so far apart in age that Chamille remembers many times like that. The first seven years of her life were spent entirely devoted to her. Then came Margaux, accidentally named after a queen, but somehow appropriate. Chamille, the ever patient person, accepted this new person for who she was and still is, very demanding. Yet, still, Chamille needs me, so days like today are wonderful for both of us and we try to make the most of it!

We thought we'd take the opportunity to do some shopping without little sister in tow. After spending the whole day away from home, Chamille and I came back to a rested dad/husband and a happy little sister/daughter. Most of the time doing things together as a family are the funnest ways to do things, but sometimes the best thing is a little one on one with a special family member.
